Awesome WoW Headphones From Creative

Today we're taking a look at Creative's Wow Headphones, and I think you'll love them. It has been a long wait for a proper WoW branded headset, but the wait was well worth it thanks to the great amount of effort that Creative put into designing these headphones.

With that said, let's see what they're like.

Today we're taking a look at Creative's Wow Headphones, and I think you'll love them. It has been a long wait for a proper WoW branded headset, but the wait was well worth it thanks to the great amount of effort that Creative put into designing these headphones.

With that said, let's see what they're like.

First off: Some eye candy

Right off the bat you can see that these headphones reek of quality. They weren't made cheap, and they sure as hell don't look cheap.

When you first put the headphones on you'll think you've gone deaf, since they shut out most background noise. They are pretty big and cover your ears completely, but they don't seem to get uncomfortable after prolonged gameplay.

Brownie points so far for being all-night raid friendly.

Installing drivers is a bit of a hassle, but worth the effort. In order to download all of the drivers you need to register with Creative first, which seems silly because why register something that clearly can't be copied. I get registering software, but this.. seriously?

Cool Features

Glyph Colours

Once the registration is complete and you've installed your drivers you get to do all kinds of cool stuff. One thing you can do is to change up your glyph colours. The image on the right shows the glyphs, and you can change the colours of the lights up as much as you want using the software that is installed with the drivers.

Interchangeable Lenses

You can swap between Alliance and Horde Lenses so everyone will know who's side you're on. If you like, you could also buy add-on lenses that display different classes.

Voice Emulation

After you get sick of playing around with the lenses, you can try out some new voices with the VoiceFX Technology. You can change your voice to that of different WoW characters and creatures. Have a laugh with your friends the next time you do a raid.

Detachable Microphone

If you aren't being feeling very social and the microphone just gets in your way, you can unplug it and put it back later.

Built-in Rechargeable Battery

If you buy the Wireless version of the headphones, you won't need additional batteries. The built-in battery allows you to charge while you use your headset so you'll never have to take any down time.

Built-in Headset Controls

All of the volume, mute and connection controls are right there on your head so you can control them even if you are AFK.

The Sound Features

Before going into specifics, the sound quality is where these headphones really prove their worth. The 5.1 Surround is freaking amazing, you can hear stuff happening all around you in the purest quality. It does get confusing at times though, since the sound's perspective isn't from the camera's angle, but from the perspective of your character instead.

For all you audiophiles out there, here's the specifics:
